General Rules

Click on event for individual event rules
1. All the events will be judged by an external judge/panel of judges.
2. Winning individual events will add 500 points to an Institute and runners up for an individual event will add 300 points.
3. Winning group events will add 1000 points, runners up 600 points.
4. Winners and Runners up trophies would be given in group events and medals in individual events.
5. The overall winner trophy will be given to one Institute with highest number of points.


Rangmanch

1. A single team may consist of 2-15 performing artists including the backstage crew. There should also be one person designated to handle sound and another for lights.
2. Duration of the play shouldn't exceed 15 minutes. Exceeding the time limit will result in the deduction of points.
3. The team's script can be original or an adaptation.
4. The languages allowed are English and Hindi.
5. The decision of the judges shall be final and binding to all teams.
6. The organizing committee will provide a list of props which can be used by the teams. If there are any further requirements, the team is requested to make their own arrangements.
7. Stage dimensions, light specifics, mics (foot, head, collar) and sound specifics will be sent to each team by the first week of November.
8. The overhead front projection will be provided. Teams are requested to submit their data in a pen drive one day prior to the event.
9. The teams are also requested to submit their music tracks one day before the event.
10. The organizing committee is not responsible for arranging costumes for the participants.

Sand Art

The idea of the event is to create a painting out of sand on a light box. This is a spot event. Two teams per Institute is allowed to take part in the event. Each team should be comprised of maximum three members. Total duration for creating a painting in this event is two hours.

Costume Designing

This is a group and spot event. The participating teams will design costumes out of given materials. Total duration for this event is two hours. Two teams with six members each can participate from every institute.

Dvaita

Music competition (Indoor). No bound on genre for music. (classical/contemporary/folk/bollywood/pop/rock anything is accepted). Maximum of 2 musicians allowed. Drums would be provided if needed. Duration for each performance will be 10 minutes excluding sound check. Two teams from each institute will be allowed to take part.

Battle of Balindi

This is a outdoor band competition. No bound on genre for music as Dvaita. One team from each institute is allowed to take part. Maximum 10 members should be on stage during the performance.
Duration for each performance is 15 minutes excluding sound check.

Come Together

Any IICM participant can perform in this event. Individuals have to sign up in prior, mentioning the instrument they want to play, if not in vocals.

The Spanish In-quiz-ition

Inter IISER general Quiz event. Four teams per institute comprised of two members each is allowed to take part.

Just a Minute

JAM or Just-A-Minute is an all round fun event about control of the mind over mouth. The standard format can be found in online This is an individual event. Two participants per IISER is allowed to take part.

Rationale

1. Each team will consist of two members.
2. The debate will be held in the Oxford Style Conventional Debate format, with the first speaker proposing the motion, and the second speaker opposing the motion.
3. Every speaker is allowed 3+1 minutes for his/her speech. A warning bell is rung at the end of the third minute to allow the speaker to wrap up in the remaining 1 minute.
4. After each speech, the floor will be open to interjections from other speakers for an additional duration of 1 minute. No cross questioning is permitted. In case of no interjections, the speaker is awarded full marks for rebuttal.
5. There may be only one team per institution.
6. The motion for the finals will be intimated to the participating teams by email or text message.

Poetry Slam

This is a non-competetive event. Details coming soon.

Twist in the Tale

It is a group dance competition in which the theme of the dance should be adapted from a story provided to the contestants before small period of time (maybe a week or few days) before the competition. Two teams per Institute comprised of maximum 10 members is allowed to take part.

Footloose

This is a face off dance competition in which the contestants are made to dance in songs that will be provided to them at the moment.It will be a solo face off challenge. Four individuals maximum per institute is allowed to take part.

Capture the Moment

Individual online event.
It has two genres: Street and Nature​.
A maximum of fifteen photographs can be sent from each institute in each genre. Last date for submitting the photographs is 15th November, 2018. A total of twenty or less photographs per genre will be selected and exhibited during IICM for final selection. There is prize and points for each genre. All the photos should be of 300dpi.

Stories in Clicks

Online group photography event.
One group comprised of three members can participate from each institute. The groups will create a story with their photographs. A maximum of six photographs per team should be submitted within 20th November, 2018, along with a 500 word write up narrating their story. All the entries will be exhibited during IICM. The best three stories will be selected for prizes and points by the judges during the time of IICM.

Chalachitra

Chalachitra is a online short film making competition. There is no restriction on the subject of the short film. Each Institute can have upto 3 submissions. The final date for submission is 25 November, 2018 via any cloud based service (like dropbox, google drive etc). The short film must not exceed 15 minutes in length.
The short films will be screened during the IICM for everyone. A weighted average of the scores given by the judges as well as the audience will be taken into consideration to arrive at the results. Top two short films will be awarded.
